Time to Decide 08

Dear Friends,

The day of decision is coming very quickly for America. I am perplexed at how quickly things have changed over the last 10 years in regards to the acceptance of what was once a dark and ugly lifestyle that was plagued by a hideous disease call "aids" and wrecked traditional families to the core. The chance that I'd see this radical reversal and inroads in the mainstream of American life is almost unfathomable. Those of us who still believe in traditional marriage are considered hate mongers by the far left, Hollywood and the mainstream media. How long has it been since you've heard about the "gay" agenda in the media? How about the issue of the aids epidemic?

As some of our conservative voices sounded the alarm years ago about the agenda of the left to promote the "gay" lifestyle as an alternative family, it has now raised the stakes. The LGBT is aggressively promoting their lifestyle as a civil rights issue. This does and will affect every aspect of our lives including your local church, private schools and even privately owned businesses. The LGBT is the acronym for lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender people. They are fully endorsed by one candidate for president and yet this issue hasn't even scratched the surface in the debates or public forum.

It is chipping away at the very cornerstone of our culture and society including the rights of those who believe in a just and righteous God, and our right to live and profess our beliefs openly without fear of being charged with a hate crime. To think the very freedom of speech we enjoy here in America is on the verge of being used to completely wipe out our right to recite the Word of God in a public forum or share our faith openly. While the economy and the war are major issues, it is a silent war that is going to shape our country for generations to come.

I recently met a Catholic lady at the Post Office. I overheard her talking with the Post Office clerk about the young voter in America. I decided to introduce myself. We were speaking about the serious consequences of who we select as the next president of the United States of America and she told me the mother diocese of the Catholic Church of Dallas said, "our children and their children will live under a curse for at least 2 generations if we make the wrong decision". While I am not personally Catholic, I am in agreement with her assessment of this historical election. We prayed together right there in front of the Post Office for this election.

Is it the economy that is the cornerstone of our country? Or was it the foundational principles of “God first” that our founders wrote the bill of rights? As I have seen in recent years some conservative voices write that at one time the church was the center of the local township, now city hall is. The City Hall was once located in simple buildings with modest fixtures and furnishings. Today, they have become "cathedrals" with elegant architecture and the finest art, grand atriums and lavish furnishings. What does this represent? Now you hear that some cities don't even want to approve of new churches to be built within their boundaries. Is the New America a church free civilization, free of those who believe in the God of our founding fathers? Don't be fooled when you hear men use the word "God" in their speeches. It's not the same God you found in a church or family alter. Be sure the god of which they speak is nothing of the same. It is with great concern that it is the very thing Christ referred to in Matt 6:24. "No one can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches!" NIV

The question is, do you believe we are experiencing CHANGE that will reward your children and grand children? We need to recognize what the real issue is in these troubling times. You've heard both of the candidates state that greed was the reason for the collapse of once great financial institutions. Really! Then I guess Jesus kind of nailed it in Matt 6. Is in fact the economy just a mere reflection of degradation of our moral state? Put it all in perspective. No one is good enough to hold the highest office in the world! In fact, they all have flaws. They all have blemishes. Then we must decide, who will lead us thru these tough times and make the founders of our profound and noble history as a Christian nation, PROUD! Who can you trust with the children of America? What kind of pride do you want for America? It’s time to read and decipher whose agenda is best.

You decide on Nov 4th. Don't let the media tell you who should be our next president! This may be hard for some of us to accept but the Word of God says in the last days it is the very elect that will be deceived.

I choose to exercise my free speech in this blog and endorse the McCain - Palin ticket for President of the United States of America. We need a clear and balanced leadership team in the oval office to counter balance the liberal controls of the Senate and House. Any other choice is a blank check to bounce our moral foundations like we’ve never seen before.

Blessings to you for reading this and please, pass it on! I hope it is a sobering word and it troubles us enough to seriously consider the real reasons we have the right and obligation to vote on Nov 4th.
